Tecnical information
GRP = Glass-fibre Reinforced Plastic
The prefabricated bathroom pod made of GRP is a self-supporting unit, composed by a floor with a tray-shape, walls and a ceiling. All parts are made with the same material (GRP); which has a small weight and a waterproof surface. The composition of the panels is the special characteristic of the product line called
Saniflex:
Sanika uses a compound made of layers of different materials (sandwich) with a total thickness of about 3 cm.
The wall panels made of GRP are composed as follows:
- gelcoat layer: pigmented resin with a easy-to-clean, scratch-resistant and waterproof surface,
therefore ideal for the use in bathrooms.
- GRP layer
- Insulation layer: PU foam or wood
- GRP layer
These multilayer GRP-panels provide the ideal stiffness and stability for the bathroom pod, while keeping a low weight.
The Saniflex bathroom pods can be offered in two different variants, according to the installation method:
- The prefabricated bathroom pod will be lifted as complete units in to the building (ideal for new constructions)
- The pod will be preassembled in the factory, but transported into the building as a separate-components kit, and finally assembled in the room. (particularly suitable for refurbishments)
The production of the outer cell of the bathroom pod requires special moulds. Sanika offers a large variety of ready-available different shapes. If no mould meets your requirements, than new ones can be produced with your footprint, even in case of small production volumes.
